Actress Asha Sharma passes away at 88

Veteran actress Asha Sharma, popularly known for her work in television shows and films, passed away at the age of 88.

The Cine and TV Artistes Association (CINTAA) announced the passing of Asha Sharma on X today, offering their deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the deceased.

However, the cause of death has not been disclosed yet. Further details will be announced in due course.

She was celebrated for her roles as a mother and grandmother in films and television shows. Her performance in "Kumkum Bhagya" was particularly well-received. She also gained recognition for her role in "Do Dishayen," starring Dharmendra and Hema Malini.

Other notable films she appeared in include "Insaaf Kaun Karega," "Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha," "Humko Tumse Pyar Hai," "Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam," and "Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai."

Asha was last seen in the mythological film Adipurush starring Prabhas and Kriti Sanon. She played the significant role of Shabari in the film.
