Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan has bagged another role despite back-to-back box office failures. He will star alongside Sai Pallavi in the upcoming film, Mere Raho.
Initially titled Ek Din, the film was reported to hit the theatres on November 7. The film was clashing with Ikkis, which marks the big-screen debut of Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson, Agastya Nanda. Now the makers have decided to postpone the release to December 12, 2025, according to a film critic.
Mere Raho will be released in theatres a week after Vishal Bhardwaj's untitled film, which stars Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri, and Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar.
Directed by Sunil Pandey, Mere Raho is produced by Aamir Khan and Mansoor Khan. The film marks the reunion of the duo after the much-loved Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na.
Mere Raho, one of Aamir Khan Productions' most anticipated films, is set against the picturesque backdrop of the Japanese winters. The movie was filmed in early 2024 and features the well-known Snow Festival in Sapporo, Japan.
The cast and crew managed to shoot despite obstacles in the original schedule caused by heavy, unanticipated snowfall. Their dedication helped the shoot gain momentum, and the project is now on schedule for its big-screen debut.
Mere Raho is Junaid Khan's second theatrical release and third acting project. YRF's Maharaj, his first OTT release, was well-reviewed, but Loveyapa, his first big-screen release, received criticism from both the audience and the critics.
Meanwhile, Sai Pallavi will make her Bollywood debut with the upcoming film, Mere Raho. She is also gearing up to star in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana as Sita. She will share the screen with Ranbir Kapoor, who will portray Lord Rama. Yash is set to portray the role of Ravana.
