Aamir Khan honoured with a special recognition award by Exhibitors Nationwide for Sitaare Zameen Par

Sitaare Zameen Par, Aamir Khan's most recent release and the spiritual sequel to his beloved masterpiece Taare Zameen Par, has won over hearts all over the country. The film, which stars ten gifted up-and-coming actors, has received praise from both reviewers and viewers for its heartwarming, humorous, and emotionally complex story.

Cinema owners and exhibitors nationwide have praised Aamir's decision to support the theatrical experience at a time when many productions are releasing their work online.

In honour of the film’s impressive box office run and overwhelming reception, a grand celebratory evening was recently hosted by major multiplex chains. The event, organised to recognise the film’s triumph, saw exhibitors from across India coming together to felicitate Aamir Khan.

The actor’s presence added immense warmth to the occasion, and several moments from the event—including Aamir graciously accepting mementos of appreciation—went viral on social media, spreading the joy of Sitaare Zameen Par’s cinematic success.

Sharing glimpses from the special evening, PVR Cinemas posted, “When the Sitaare align, magic happens! PVR INOX Pictures and Cinepolis came together to host a special evening honouring the film’s success with exhibitors from across India joining in to felicitate the one and only Mr. Aamir Khan. Produced by Aamir Khan Productions, the film stars Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh in lead roles alongside ten emerging artists—Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar.

Helmed by R. S. Prasanna, best known for his critically acclaimed Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, Sitaare Zameen Par boasts a screenplay by Divy Nidhi Sharma, evocative lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya, and an original score composed by the celebrated trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.

The project is produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit, with B. Shrinivas Rao and Ravi Bhagchandka also serving as producers. Released in cinemas on 20th June 2025, the film continues to charm moviegoers and uphold the magic of storytelling on the big screen.
