Allu Arjun is set to take a new cinematic journey after the record-breaking success of Pushpa 2: The Rule — this time with director Atlee, who delivered one of Bollywood’s biggest hits of 2023 in Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jawan.

A buzz is building around their upcoming pan-India action drama, especially after the duo recently held an elaborate look test and concept photoshoot at Mumbai’s Mehboob Studios. This major development is being reported as the first major step in the development of the much-anticipated project.

A New Avatar for Allu Arjun

The look test, which reportedly took place today around 1 PM, included several styles for the new character — rugged, intense, sleek, stylish, and more (thanks, in no particular order, to the stylist, hair, and makeup teams!).

"Atlee and team have been working hard and preparing for this for a long time now. He wants to show him in an entirely different light. Allu Arjun’s screen presence and image have gone global with Pushpa." Source confirmed Moneycontrol.com.

It has also been learnt that Arjun is focusing on every detail in the film and is focusing on everything about the character and photoshoot, getting involved in shaping the overall look.

While story details remain under wraps, early whispers indicate that the film is set to be a high-concept action-drama — a genre that Atlee has toiled with over the years. If things fall in place, the film should take off on ground level by the end of June. A title and full cast announcement should be on the way shortly.

This partnership would also be an interesting shift for Allu Arjun, who primarily worked with ace Telugu directors like Sukumar, Trivikram Srinivas and Puri Jagannadh so far. Working with Atlee — a director who has successfully crossed into Bollywood — indicates Arjun’s evolving ambitions to bridge industries and reach audiences across India.

This yet-to-be-titled film looks like it will be among the most anticipated pan-India releases on the calendar, thanks to Atlee’s sweeping vision and Allu Arjun’s star power.
