Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said the Congress is working to weaken the country.
"If you have two houses, Congress govt will take one, if you have two vehicles, they will take one and give to their vote bank," PM Modi at election rally in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh.
Terming Congress, the biggest enemy of OBCs, PM Modi said, "You should reject Congress which rejected invitation to attend Ram temple consecration ceremony at Ayodhya."
Earlier at an election rally in Chhattisgarh's Surguja,PM Modi slammed Congress party over its manifesto.
The PM also took a jibe at the inheritance tax and said that Congress party is trying to snatch all assets from people including property and mangalsutra.
"...Congress bad governance & negligence is the reason for the country's destruction. Today, the BJP is taking strict action against terrorism & Naxalism. Congress is supporting the people who spread violence and calling them Bravehearts. The biggest leader of this Congress sheds tears when terrorists are killed. Due to such actions, Congress has lost the trust of the country..." said PM in Surguja.
In a direct attack on the Gandhi family, PM said: "The royal family's prince's advisor and the royal family's prince's father's advisor had said that more taxes should be imposed on the middle class. Now these people have gone one step further than this, Congress says that it will impose an Inheritance Tax, and it will also impose tax on the Inheritance received from parents. The property you have accumulated through your hard work will not be given to your children. The claws of Congress will snatch that too from you...As long as you are alive, Congress will impose higher taxes and when you are no longer alive, it will burden you with Inheritance Tax. Those people who considered the entire Congress party as their ancestral property and handed it over to their children, now do not want Indians to pass on their property to their children."
Indian Overseas Congress Chairman Sam Pitroda today stoked the debate over the BJP's allegations that the Congress is planning a redistribution of wealth. Mr Pitroda's example of an inheritance tax in the US added fuel to the fire that the Congress has been trying to douse.
However, he issued a clarification over his statement on inheritance tax, claiming that his remarks were twisted.
The Congress distanced itself from the senior leader's remarks and said they do not reflect the party's position. Congress's Jairam Ramesh said in a social media message that "sensationalising" Mr Pitroda's comments is aimed at "diverting attention" from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "malicious and mischievous election campaign".
