Poll strategist Prashant Kishor on Friday cited political leader and psephologist Yogendra Yadav's prediction about BJP-led NDA getting a majority in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, saying that people can judge for themselves who will come to power on June 4.
Kishor's post on X was apparently directed at his detractors who trolled him for his heated exchange with journalist Karan Thapar after being questioned over his poll prediction for BJP.
In his post, Kishor said: "Yogendra Yadav ji, a trusted face among those who understand elections and socio-political issues in the country, has shared his 'final assessment' of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. According to Yogendra ji, in these elections, BJP may get 240-260 seats and NDA allies may get 35-45 seats. Meaning BJP/NDA may get 275-305 seats."
"272 seats are needed to form a government in the country and BJP/NDA has 303/323 seats in the outgoing Lok Sabha. (Shiv Sena won 18 seats as part of NDA but is no longer with them) Now you can judge for yourself whose government is being formed. You will know on 4 June who is talking about whom," he added.

Kishor was referring to Yadav's recent prediction that BJP, with the help of allies, will pull off another victory in the general election while Congress will win about 85-100 seats.
During his interview with Thapar, Kishor also predicted a BJP victory in the election.
But unlike Yadav, Kishor said that BJP is likely to form a government on its own and the final tally will be similar to or slightly better than its 2019 performance.
Following Kishor's prediction, Thapar probed him on how confident he was about his assessment, given that he earlier predicted a rout for Congress in Himachal Pradesh which turned out to be incorrect.
This triggered an argument between the two, with Kishor vehemently denying making such a prediction in the past.
When the video of the interview went viral online, Kishor said on X that those who are "rattled" by his assessment should "keep plenty of water handy" on June 4. He was referring to those who criticised him for taking a sip of water during his heated exchange with Thapar.
"Drinking water is good as it keeps both mind and body hydrated. Those who are RATTLED with my assessment of outcome of this election must keep plenty of water handy on June 4th. PS: Remember, 02nd May, 2021 and #West Bengal!!" Kishor had posted on X.
