The Congress attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday over RSS president Mohan Bhagwat's remarks expressing worry about Manipur's lack of peace, claiming that Bhagwat would be able to persuade the "former RSS office-bearer" to visit the northeastern state. In May of last year, Manipur experienced unrest between the Meitei and Kuki communities. Since then, around 200 people have died, and hundreds have been displaced as a result of widespread arson that has destroyed homes and government building. Fresh violence has been reported in Jiribam in recent days.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan appointed as Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Minister of Rural Development

Ex-Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan got appointed as Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Minister of Rural Development in Prime Minister's 3.0 cabinet. Agriculture Ministry is among high-profile in Modi government due to the 2020 farmers protest. Chouhan replaced BJP's senior tribal leader Arjun Munda as the Agriculture Minister after 2024 Lok Sabha Election

Jyotiraditya M. Scindia was appointed as the Minister of Communications as well as the Minister of Development of North Eastern Region. Scindia was initially appointed as a Union minister in the Modi administration in 2020, with a Civil Aviation portfolio. He defeated Congress candidate Yadvendra Rao Deshraj Singh by 5,40,929 votes in the Guna seat.

Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya became the Minister of Labour and Employment; and Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports. On July 5, 2016, he was appointed Minister of State (MoS) for Road Transport and Highways, Shipping, and Chemicals and Fertilisers in the Union Cabinet.

On May 30, 2019, he was re-sworn in as Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilisers, with separate responsibility for Ports, Shipping, and Waterways.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will retain their respective portfolios in the Modi 3.0 government, with BJP keeping all the big four cabinet berths with itself. BJP National President JP Nadda is the Minister of Health and Family Welfare; and Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers. Nadda was Health Minister from 2014 to 2019, during Prime Minister Modi's first term. He later succeeded Amit Shah as BJP president in 2020, while Shah remained Union Home Minister.

Telangana BJP President G Kishan Reddy is the Minister of Coal and Mines in Modi 3.0 cabinet. The 63-year-old Minister began as a Minister of State in the Home Ministry before being promoted to Cabinet Minister and assigned the Tourism, Culture, and Development of the Northeast Region portfolio in the previous government in 2021.

Piyush Goyal gets the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in Modi 3.0 government. In the previous term, he had MInistry of Railways in addition to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

Pralhad Joshi is the Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution; also Minister of New and Renewable Energy.

Nirmala Sitharaman returns as India's finance minister for the third time.

Suresh Gopi is the new MoS Culture, while BJP's CR Patil is the new Jal Shakti Minister. Annapurna Devi gets the Women and Child Welfare Development Ministery, which was earlier held by Smriti Irani.

As per reports, TDP's Ram Mohan Naidu is likely to be appointed as the Aviation Minister.

Ravneet Singh Bittu got the Minority Affairs Ministry while Jitan Ram Manjhi became the MSME Minister. In addition, Sarbananda Sonowal has been appointed as Shipping, Port and Waterways Minister, according to News18 reports.

LJP (Ram Vilas) Chief Chirag Paswan is the new Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, states News18 sources.

Dharmendra Pradhan has been appointed as the Education Minister, according to News18.

Hardeep Singh Puri will likely retain the Petroleum Ministry whereas Kiran Rejiju will become the Parliamentary Affairs Minister, claims News18 reports.

According to News18 reports, JP Nadda has been appointed as the Health Minister in Modi 3.0 Cabinet.

Ram Mohan Naidu is likely to be the Civil Aviation Minister, as per Sources to News18.

As told to News18 by sources, Amit Shah is likely to retain the Home Ministry whereas the I&B Ministry will most likely go to Ashwini Vaishnaw. Shivraj Chauhan is likely to get the Agriculture and Rural Development Ministry.

Shripad Naik likely to have been appointed as MoS Power, according to News18 report.

According to News18 sources, ML Khattar is believed to have received the Power Ministry, while Nirmala Sitharaman is expected to retain the Finance Ministry. Moneycontrol has been unable to verify these reports.

In his address on June 7, PM Modi stated that in the next ten years, NDA 3.0 will deliver on good governance, development, and increasing the quality of life.

As reported by News18, Rajnath Singh has retained his position as Defence Minister, although no formal confirmation has yet been received. According to the sources, no changes are expected in the CCS, with Rajnath likely to continue as Defence Minister.

According to News18, S Jaishankar has retained the External Affairs Ministry, although Moneycontrol was unable to confirm this independently.

News18 spoke with Ajay Tamta, who has reportedly been named Minister of State for Transport and stated that he was not present at the Cabinet meeting. According to unnamed sources, Nitin Gadkari will continue to serve as Road Transport Minister.

The first cabinet meeting of the Modi 3.0 govt was held today, and the portfolios were announced. Nitin Gadkari is likely to retain the Road and Transport Ministry. He had also held the portfolio in the earlier two terms of PM Modi's government.

• She stated that two crore additional houses will be developed under the PMAY-G in the next five years to meet increased demand.

The Union Cabinet resolved today to provide support to 3 crore extra rural and urban households for house construction in order to address the housing needs of the increased number of eligible families.

Sikkim CM-designate Prem Singh Tamang will take the oath at Paljor Stadium in Gangtok today.

- Modi took the oath for the third straight term, days after the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance secured 293 seats out of 543 in the Lok Sabha polls.

- Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanth on Sunday congratulated all the Union ministers, who took oath of office and secrecy, as they were inducted into the third Narendra Modi government.

BJP MP from Telangana's Malkajgiri constituency, Eatala Rajender says, "It was a grand celebration today when PM Narendra Modi and cabinet ministers took oath... The next 5 years will be a success under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi... Every MP cannot become a cabinet minister. Every state has different demands and all demands need to be taken care of... The party decides what responsibility needs to be given to whom."

The first meeting of the third Narendra Modi cabinet is likely to be held on Monday evening at the Prime Minister’s Lok Kalyan Marg residence, the sources said.

The newly inducted ministers would meet at Modi’s residence at 5 pm.BJP president J P Nadda also hosted a dinner for those inducted in the new Modi government’s council of ministers, the sources said.

- Prem Singh Tamang and his Council of Ministers will take the oath of office in Sikkim today at 4 PM at Paljor Stadium in Gangtok. The oath of office and secrecy will be given to Tamang and his Council of Ministers by Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya. Tamang, the head of SKM, is going to swear in for a second term.
