With Bharatiya Janata Party all set to form the next government in Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday congratulated the resident of the city, saying the victory is attributed to development and good governance.

The party, at the time of writing the piece, was leading in 35 seats and was confirmed victorious in 12-- thereby taking the combined tally to 47. The incumbent Aam Aadmi Party was behind, leading in 13 seats and having won in another 10, taking the party's combined tally to 23.

Reacting to the mandate, the Prime Minister tweeted: "We guarantee that we will leave no stone unturned to ensure the all-round development of Delhi and to make the lives of its people better. Along with this, we will also ensure that Delhi plays an important role in building a developed India.  My salute and congratulations to all my brothers and sisters of Delhi for giving a historic victory to @BJP4India ! I am very grateful to all of you from the bottom of my heart for the abundant blessings and love you have given."

"I am very proud of all my workers of @BJP4India who worked day and night for this massive mandate. Now we will be even more strongly dedicated to serving our people of Delhi," further read his tweet.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on too reacted to the results of the Delhi Assembly elections after Election Commission trends suggested a comfortable win for the BJP. In a post on X, he said, "Delhiites have shown that the public cannot be mislead by repeated false promises. The public has responded to the dirty Yamuna, dirty drinking water, broken roads, overflowing sewers and liquor shops open in every street with their votes."
