Intensifying the tax jab at the Bharatiya Janata Party, AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday asked the electorate in Delhi to carefully decide between two competing models of development.
Elaborating on the two 'competing models' of development, Kejriwal said if the BJP comes to power it will stop all the services currently in place for the common residents of Delhi. Going by a simple calculation, the closure of these schemes that are currently underway will cost the city-state residents an additional burden of Rs 25,000 per month.
"...On one hand, there is the BJP model where your money is given as a loan to billionaire friends and it is waived off after 2-3 years. The other is the Aam Aadmi Party model which includes 24-hour electricity, free electricity to the poor. 24-hour free water, best and good treatment... this is the Aam Aadmi Party's welfare model. The Bharatiya Janata Party has made it clear in different ways, through the words of different leaders, that if their government is formed, if you press the lotus button, all these facilities being provided in Delhi will be stopped because this is against their model..." remarked the AAP supremo.
Kejriwal alleged that the BJP has only promised the same old schemes, which they have failed to deliver on. He also claimed the BJP manifesto says that mohalla clinics will be closed.
Kejriwal on Saturday questioned the deployment of eight companies of the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) from Gujarat for the upcoming Delhi assembly election. This comes days after the Punjab Police personnel deployed in the former Delhi CM’s security were withdrawn by the order of the Election Commission. He also shared a circular issued by the office of the Additional Director General of Police (DGP), Armed Unit, regarding deployment of SRPF for Delhi election.
