Seven Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs have resigned just a week ahead of the Delhi election. These MLAs of Delhi's ruling party did not get tickets to contest the election.

The seven MLAs who quit the party  are Bhawna Gaur from Palam seat, Naresh Yadav from Mehrauli, Rajesh Rishi from Janakpuri, Madan Lal from Kasturba Nagar, Rohit Mehraulia from Trilokpuri, BS Joon from Bijwasan, and Pawan Sharma from Adarsh Nagar.

According to sources, these MLAs, frustrated over ticket denials for the February 5 elections, were in talks with rival parties, news agency PTI reported.

Many publicly shared their resignation letters on social media, launching sharp attacks on AAP over corruption and governance concerns.

Madan Lal, the outgoing MLA from Kasturba Nagar, claimed on Friday that he and six other party legislators had resigned from AAP's primary membership.

Lal said they had also sent their resignation letters to Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel.

Elections to the 70-member Delhi Assembly will be held in a single phase on February 5 and the votes will be counted on February 8.
