Union home minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah dismissed the challenge mounted by Prashant Kishor’s newly launched Jan Suraaj party, saying the fight is only between theNDA bloc and the Mahagatbandhan.
"This country has over 1,550 political parties and maximum is in Bihar. There is not triangular contest. It is already ‘1,000 angle’,” Shah said during an exclusive interview with Network18 Group Editor-in-Chief Rahul Joshi on October 29.
Shah said everyone has the right to form their parties. “But, I can see the whole election is between NDA and the Mahagatbandhan. And a big chunk of the votes will be in our favour,” he said.
The senior BJP leader also claimed that Kishor’s party won’t be a vote cutter for either of the two alliances. “Everyone gets some vote. If some disgruntled candidates contest from his party, they will take away some number of votes,” he said, indicating Kishor’s party won’t be a major threat.
Shah claimed that the NDA bloc in Bihar will return to power with a massive victory securing 2/3rd seats in the upcoming assembly election in the state.
“See providing exact number is difficult but I want to say that we will win more than 2/3rd majority in Bihar. And by we, I mean the NDA bloc will win the election under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Nitish Kumar,” Shah said at News18’s Bihar Conclave.
In addition, Shah said in all the regions he has visited in the state, he can see a wave in favour of the ruling NDA bloc.
"Wherever I have travelled in Bihar, I can clearly see a wave in NDA's favour and the seat's margin will also see an unprecedented rise," Shah said.
Bihar will vote in two phases on November 6 and 11 and the results will be declared on November 14.
