XAT 2026

XLRI Jamshedpur has officially extended the registration window for the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2026. Prospective candidates now have a final opportunity to apply for one of India's premier MBA entrance exams until December 11, 2025. The previous deadline was set for December 5.

This extension provides a reprieve for students aiming to secure a seat in top-tier business schools but who missed the initial application cut-off. XAT scores are a gateway to over 250 esteemed management institutes across the country, including XLRI itself.

Conducted by XLRI on behalf of the Xavier Association of Management Institutes (XAMI), XAT is a national-level computer-based test designed to evaluate candidates on parameters critical for management success. The exam rigorously assesses analytical and decision-making abilities, verbal and logical reasoning, quantitative skills, and general awareness.

Key Dates for XAT 2026

Aspiring candidates must mark their calendars with the following revised schedule:

  • Last Date for Online Registration: December 11, 2025 (until midnight)
  • Admit Card Availability: December 20, 2025 onwards
  • XAT 2026 Exam Date: January 4, 2026 (2:00 PM to 5:00 PM)

The exam will be conducted in a single session across various test centers.

Eligibility and Application Process

Graduates in any discipline from a recognized university are eligible to apply. Students currently in their final year of undergraduate studies can also register.

The application is exclusively online via the official portal xatonline.in. The process involves:

  • Creating a candidate registration account.
  • Filling in personal, academic, and program preference details in the online form.
  • Uploading scanned images of a recent photograph and signature as per specified guidelines.
  • Paying the non-refundable application fee of ₹2,200.

Officials advise applicants to complete their submissions well before the December 11 deadline to circumvent potential last-minute technical issues or website congestion. This extra week not only facilitates registration but also allows candidates to refocus on their exam preparation with one less administrative concern.

This extension underscores the organizing body's intent to ensure no deserving candidate misses the chance to appear for this key management entrance test. Eligible students are encouraged to utilize this final window to apply and take a definitive step toward their MBA ambitions.
