The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) reported multiple violations during the UP Board Class 10 and Class 12 exams 2025 held on February 24. A total of nine students were caught using unfair means, while 14 dummy candidates were identified across different districts.
The exams were conducted in two shifts—the Class 10 Hindi and Class 12 Military Science papers in the first shift, followed by the Class 10 Healthcare and Class 12 Hindi papers in the second shift.
According to UPMSP, a total of 48,76,219 candidates took the exam on the first day. The first shift saw 24,74,862 students, while 24,01,357 students appeared in the second shift. With over 51.49 lakh registrations, this year’s examination process reflects a significant participation.
During the first shift of the Class 10 exam, six students from Farrukhabad and one from Pratapgarh were caught using unfair means. In the second shift of the Intermediate exams, one student each from Bijnor and Mirzapur was caught engaging in malpractice.
Breakdown of Students Caught Using Unfair MeansAs per the Uttar Pradesh Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act 2024, students caught cheating will not face criminal charges to protect their academic future. However, their answer sheets will not be evaluated, and their results will be determined according to official regulations.
Meanwhile, UPMSP Secretary Bhagwati Singh emphasized that strict action will be taken against any individuals or officials aiding in unfair practices, including those involved in impersonation or facilitating cheating.
