The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the results of the UGC–NET June 2025 examination today, July 21. The exam was conducted in computer-based mode for 85 subjects across 285 cities in India, with 10 shifts held between June 25 and June 29, 2025. A total of 10,19,751 candidates had registered for the exam, out of which 7,51,907 appeared. The exam determines eligibility for Assistant Professor positions, Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), and admission to PhD programmes.
As per the official data, 5,90,897 female candidates registered for the exam, along with 4,28,653 male candidates and 201 candidates from the third gender. Among the test takers, 4,46,689 females and 3,05,182 males appeared, while 36 third-gender candidates also took the test. This results in an overall attendance rate of approximately 74%.
In the results declared today, 5,289 candidates have qualified for both JRF and Assistant Professor positions. An additional 54,885 candidates have qualified for the Assistant Professor role alone, while 1,28,179 candidates have qualified for Ph.D. admission only. The evaluation process included a challenge window for the provisional answer keys, which was open from July 6 to July 8, 2025. Objections raised were reviewed by subject experts, and final results were released accordingly.
