The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSMSSB) is conducting the Patwari Recruitment Exam 2025 today, 17th August 2025, in two shifts. The first shift will run from 9 AM to 12 PM, while the second shift will be held from 3 PM to 6 PM. With 6.78 lakh applicants competing for 3,705 vacancies, candidates must strictly follow the exam guidelines to avoid any last-minute issues.
Reporting Time and Entry Rules
Candidates must arrive at the exam center two hours before the scheduled start time. The gates will close one hour before the exam begins, and latecomers will not be allowed entry under any circumstances. This rule ensures a smooth verification process and prevents disruptions during the exam.
Mandatory Documents to Carry
All candidates must bring a printed copy of their admit card, as entry will be denied without it. Additionally, a valid government-issued photo ID proof (such as Aadhaar, PAN, Voter ID, or Driving License) is required for verification. A recent passport-sized color photograph (2.5 cm x 2.5 cm) taken within the last month must also be carried along with a transparent blue ball pen.
Restrictions on Mehndi (Henna)
The RSMSSB has imposed strict rules regarding mehndi (henna) for candidates appearing in the exam. Those with mehndi on their hands will be required to submit an affidavit at the exam center. Additionally, biometric verification may face issues due to mehndi, so candidates are strongly advised to avoid applying it before the exam to prevent any complications.
Prohibited Items Inside the Exam Centre
To maintain exam integrity, candidates are not allowed to carry electronic devices such as mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth earphones, or calculators. Study materials, including books, notes, and rough sheets, are also banned. Personal items like bags, pouches, and water bottles (unless transparent) are prohibited. Jewelry such as bangles, rings, and earrings (except simple glass or lacquer bangles) should not be worn.
Dress Code for Male and Female Candidates
Male candidates must wear formal attire, such as a half or full-sleeve shirt/T-shirt with formal pants or kurta-pajama. Jeans, casual wear, or printed T-shirts are not permitted. Female candidates should opt for traditional attire like a salwar suit, saree, or a modest kurta with a simple rubber band for hair. Heavy jewelry, hairpins, belts, and other accessories are not allowed.
Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme
The Patwari exam consists of 150 questions worth 300 marks. Each question has five options, and candidates must mark their answers carefully. There is a negative marking of ⅓ marks for every incorrect answer, so guessing should be avoided unless certain.
Final Tips for a Smooth Exam Experience
Candidates should double-check their admit card and ID proof before leaving home to avoid last-minute hassles. Wearing the permissible dress code is crucial to ensure entry into the exam hall. Carrying any banned items could lead to disqualification, so it’s best to travel light.
