The Patna district administration has ordered the closure of all schools up to class 8 until January 11 due to the prevailing cold wave and low temperatures. The decision was announced by District Magistrate Chandra Shekhar Singh on Sunday.
Classes for students in Class 9 and above will continue as usual, operating between 9:00 AM and 3:30 PM. However, the order exempts academic activities related to board examinations.
This decision follows a previous order issued on January 1 that restricted school timings to between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM for all schools.
Weather Forecast
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that cold days and dense fog will continue over the next two days. While there may not be a significant change in temperature in the immediate future, a drop in minimum temperatures is expected thereafter.
