The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate Courses (NEET UG) 2025 will be held today, May 4, 2025. Over 20 lakh candidates are expected to appear for this pen-and-paper-based medical entrance exam, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The exam will take place from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM across various centres in the country.

Entry Timing and Important Instructions

Candidates must reach their assigned exam centres before the last entry time, which is 1:30 PM. No entry will be allowed after this time under any circumstances. It is important that students plan their travel in advance, keeping in mind possible delays due to weather, traffic, or other local conditions. Candidates are advised to locate their exam centres a day in advance to avoid confusion or delay on the exam day.

Documents to Carry

Students must carry the following documents and items to be allowed entry:

  • NEET UG 2025 Admit Card with a passport-size photo affixed on it
  • One additional passport-size photo to paste on the attendance sheet
  • Original and valid photo identity proof (such as Aadhaar card, PAN card, passport, voter ID, or driving licence)
  • PwBD certificate (if applicable)
  • A postcard-size (4”x6”) colour photo with a white background pasted on the proforma (available with the admit card)

The NTA has issued a strict dress code and security protocols for the exam. Items such as full-sleeve clothing, jewellery, or shoes with thick soles should be avoided. Candidates wearing cultural or religious attire should reach at least two hours before the last reporting time to complete security checks. If any prohibited item is detected, entry may be denied.

  • Books, notes, calculators, log tables, writing pads, or any study material
  • Mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, earphones, smartwatches, electronic pens, microphones, or any communication device
  • Wallets, handbags, belts, caps, goggles, cameras, or metallic items
  • Food items, packed or unpacked, and water bottles
  • Any wearable item that may hide a communication device, including digital watches or ornaments

The NTA has clarified that no facility will be available at the exam centre to keep personal belongings. It is therefore important that students carry only what is permitted.

Following these guidelines will help avoid any last-minute issues and ensure a smooth experience at the examination centre.
