The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has announced the postponement of the Class 8 and Class 9 board exams for 2025 due to “unavoidable circumstances.” The exams were originally planned for 28, 29, and 30 January 2025. A revised schedule will soon be released on the official JAC website, jacexamportal.in.
Postponed Exams and Revised Dates
The Class 8 exam, which was initially scheduled for 28 January, and the Class 9 exams, planned for 29 and 30 January, have been delayed. The JAC has assured that updated dates will be announced shortly. Students, parents, and school officials are advised to monitor the official website regularly for further updates.
The JAC has issued clear instructions to exam officials regarding the safe storage of examination materials, such as question papers and answer sheets, during this postponement period. The council has emphasised the importance of maintaining the confidentiality and security of these materials until the exams are conducted.
Original Exam Timetable and Shifts
As per the initial schedule, the exams were to be conducted in two shifts:
Exam Pattern
The Class 8 and Class 9 exams follow a multiple-choice question (MCQ) format. Each subject carries a total of 50 marks, with an additional internal assessment by schools contributing 100 marks. For Class 8 students, the exams will be OMR-based, requiring familiarity with the answer sheet format.
Students are encouraged to focus on their preparations while awaiting the new schedule.
