The National Testing Agency (NTA) will open the application correction window for JEE Main 2026 Session 1 today, December 1, 2025. This facility allows the record 14.50 lakh registered candidates to rectify errors in their submitted forms, a final opportunity before the admit card generation process begins.

The correction window will remain active on the official website, jeemain.nta.ac.in, until 11:50 PM on December 2, 2025. Prospective engineering aspirants are advised to review their forms meticulously and make necessary amendments within this narrow 48-hour period.

What Candidates Can Edit:

NTA has permitted modifications in several key fields. Applicants can correct:

  • Personal Details: Name, Parent’s Name, Date of Birth, Gender.
  • Category & Sub-category information.
  • Academic Details: Class 10 and Class 12 educational information.
  • Examination Preferences: Medium of exam, choice of paper (B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch, B.Planning), and preferred exam cities.
  • State Code of Eligibility (Note: The underlying eligibility criteria marks cannot be altered).

Important Restrictions to Note:

The agency has clearly stated that certain details, once submitted, will be locked and cannot be changed. These include:

  • Candidate’s Mobile Number and Email ID.
  • Current and Permanent Address.
  • Emergency Contact Details.
  • Photograph uploaded during initial registration.

Regarding exam city changes, while candidates can submit their preference, the final allotment will be based on the permanent or current address provided and seat availability at the chosen centre.

Steps to Edit JEE Main 2026 Form:

Candidates must follow the process below to avoid last-minute technical issues:

Step 1. Visit the official JEE Main portal: jeemain.nta.ac.in.

Step 2. Locate and click on the link for ‘JEE Main 2026 January Session Application Correction’ on the homepage.

Step 3. Log in using your unique Application Number and Password.

Step 4. Carefully navigate and edit the allowed fields in the application form.

Step 5. Pay the requisite correction fee, if applicable.

Step 6. Submit the corrected form and download/print the confirmation page for future reference.

Exam Schedule and Key Details:

JEE Main 2026 Session 1 is tentatively scheduled to be held between January 21 and January 30, 2026. The exam will be conducted in 13 languages: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

This year has seen unprecedented registration numbers, with significant participation from states like Bihar, where approximately 60,000 students have applied.

The second session of JEE Main 2026 is expected to be held in April 2026. For all official updates, candidates must rely only on the NTA’s JEE Main website.
