JEE Main 2025: CSAB launches special quotas and counselling for north-east aspirants

CSAB 2025 launches a special initiative to boost JEE Main 2025 participation among North-East students, offering reserved seats, counselling support, and awareness programs to increase registrations.

The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) has announced special initiatives to encourage students from North-Eastern (NE) states to register for JEE Main 2025. The Board has set up a multilingual tele-help desk and a counselling center to provide guidance to engineering aspirants at every stage of the admission process. To further expand awareness, the Board will conduct another awareness camp in Mizoram on February 14, 2025.

JEE Main 2025: Special quotas and seat reservation for NE students

JEE Main provides access to top technical institutions under the NIT+ system, which includes 31 NITs, 26 IIITs, 3 SPAs, 37 GFTIs, and IIEST Shibpur. In 2025, around 2,000 seats will be reserved under the State Quota for NE students in NITs, and 740 seats will be allocated under the NEUT category.

CSAB has introduced two special counselling rounds:

  • CSAB-NEUT Round – Offers seats in AICTE-approved institutes across India for students from NE states and Union Territories.
  • CSAB Special Round – Provides a second chance for candidates who could not secure a seat through JoSAA/CSAB counselling.

JEE Main 2025 Eligibility

There is no age limit for JEE Main 2025. Students who passed Class 12 in 2023, 2024, or are appearing in 2025 are eligible. The exam will be conducted in 13 languages, including Assamese, Bengali, Hindi, and English.
