The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur witnessed a robust start to its Phase-I placement session, recording 579 job offers on the first day. Of these, 523 students secured positions, including 199 through Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs) extended based on their internship performances.
The placements included 13 international job offers, showcasing global demand for the institute's graduates. Companies from various sectors participated in the recruitment process, with prominent names such as Microsoft, Texas Instruments, Databricks, Google, American Express, SLB, and Deutsche Bank among the key recruiters.
A total of 74 companies conducted interviews on the first day, offering positions across domains such as software development, data science, electronics, finance, and consulting. The range of companies highlights the diverse skillsets of the students and the institute's reputation in industry circles.
The placement drive is expected to continue in the coming days, with more organizations lined up to recruit students. IIT Kanpur’s placement season is closely watched each year, given the institute’s track record of producing professionals equipped for cutting-edge roles in technology, engineering, and other fields.
While the recruitment figures from Day 1 point to a strong demand for talent, the final numbers will emerge as the placement process progresses over the next few weeks.
