GUJCET 2025 Registration to Begin from Dec 17, Check Notification Here

The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) has announced the registration dates for the Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET) 2025. According to the notification released on the official website, gsebeservice.com, the registration process will begin on December 17, 2024 and will close on December 31, 2024. This clears the speculation about GUJCET being replaced by JEE Mains for admissions in Gujarat.

Gujarat had initially adopted the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains in 2013 to facilitate national-level competition for engineering and pharmacy admissions. However, in 2017, the state returned to conducting GUJCET. Recent discussions suggested GUJCET might be replaced with JEE Mains from 2025, but the latest notification confirms that GUJCET will remain in place.

The notification specifies that admissions to degree engineering and diploma/degree pharmacy courses will be based on GUJCET, as per the Gujarat Education Department's resolution PRCH-102012-142-S dated November 19, 2016. The exam is open to students from Group-A, Group-B, and Group-AB categories of the HSC Science stream.
