What to Do if You Fail a Subject?

If a student does not pass in one or two subjects, CBSE offers the option to appear for supplementary exams, which are typically scheduled in July. This allows students a second chance to improve their performance and continue their academic journey without having to repeat the entire year.

What if You Are Not Satisfied with Your Marks?

For students who are not satisfied with their marks, CBSE provides an opportunity for re-verification and revaluation. After the results are announced, students can apply for the re-verification of their answer sheets. This process involves checking for any discrepancies in the evaluation of their answers. If students feel their marks in specific questions are incorrectly evaluated, they can request a re-evaluation for a fee.

The re-verification and revaluation window typically opens in May and closes in June. This gives students ample time to decide if they want to go ahead with the process.

Passing Criteria for CBSE Class 10

To pass the CBSE Class 10 exams, students must score a minimum of 33% in each subject, which includes theory, practical, and internal assessments. Students must pass all five core subjects to be declared as having passed the examination. In case a student narrowly misses the passing criteria, grace marks may be awarded at the discretion of the board.
