BSEB Teacher Competency Test 2025: Exam schedule announced for 3rd, 4th, 5th phases; details here

BSEB has announced the schedule for the third, fourth, and fifth phases of the Teacher Competency Test 2025. Exams will be held between May and July, with results announced shortly after.

The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has announced the schedule for the third, fourth, and fifth phases of the Teacher Competency Test 2025. The announcement was made today, 26 April 2025, by chairman Shri Arun Kishore.

According to the information, the third phase of the Teacher Competency Test will be held from 10 May 2025 to 15 May 2025. A total of 30,221 teacher candidates have applied online to appear for this phase. The board aims to declare the results of the third phase by 31 May 2025. Applications for the third phase were invited from teachers of classes 1–5, 6–8, 9–10, and 11–12.

The Chairman also informed that online applications for the fourth and fifth competency tests will be accepted between 7 May and 14 May 2025. Candidates who qualify in the third phase will be able to pay the application fee for the fourth phase online on 2 and 3 June 2025.

The fourth phase of the competency test is scheduled for 15 and 16 June 2025. The board plans to release the results of the fourth phase by 30 June 2025.

Teacher candidates who clear the fourth phase will have to submit the application fee for the fifth phase on 2 and 3 July 2025 through online mode. The fifth phase of the competency test will be conducted on 15 and 16 July 2025. The result of the fifth phase is likely to be declared by 31 July 2025.

It is important to note that two phases of the Teacher Competency Test have already been completed. In the first phase, 1,99,027 candidates appeared, out of which 1,87,818 qualified. In the second phase, 80,713 candidates had participated, and 65,716 candidates successfully passed the test.

The third phase examination will be conducted through Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. The duration of the test will be two hours and thirty minutes.

The minimum qualifying marks required are:

  • General Category – 40%
  • Backward Classes (BC) – 36.5%
  • Extremely Backward Classes (EBC) – 34%
  • Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes (SC/ST) – 32%
  • Differently Abled – 32%
  • Female Candidates – 32%

Teacher candidates are advised to keep checking the official BSEB website for updates regarding exam centres, admit cards, and further instructions.
