The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has cancelled the 70th Combined Competitive Preliminary Exam (CCE PT) held at the Bapu Exam Centre (BEC) in Patna due to disruptions caused by miscreants on December 13.
BPSC Chairman Parmar Ravi Manubhai, while addressing reporters on Monday, explained that the cancellation was necessary to ensure fairness for genuine candidates. He clarified that the results for all candidates who appeared in the PT would be declared together, and no normalization process would be implemented.
The commission has identified around 20-25 individuals who were involved in the misconduct and plans to take strict action, including potential debarment, after a thorough inquiry.
The BPSC chairman also dismissed allegations of a paper leak, stating that they were unfounded. He attributed delays in the distribution of question papers at some Bapu Exam Centre rooms to unforeseen circumstances.
A fresh date for the retest at the Bapu Exam Centre will be announced soon. It is important to note that this cancellation only affects the Bapu Exam Centre and not other exam centers across the state.
