The Indian Air Force has released the AFCAT 1 2026 short notification. Applications open on 10 November 2025 for courses beginning in January 2027.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has issued the short notification for the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT 1 2026). The AFCAT 1 Exam will be held for courses starting in January 2027. Through this recruitment, both men and women can apply to join the IAF as Group A Gazetted Officers in Flying and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches.

The online application process for AFCAT 1 2026 will begin on 10 November 2025 and will continue till 9 December 2025. Candidates can submit their applications at the official website, www.afcat.cdac.in.

What is the AFCAT Exam?

The Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) is a national-level examination conducted by the Indian Air Force twice every year. It is open to both male and female candidates who wish to join the Flying and Ground Duty branches. Those who qualify in AFCAT 1 2026 will undergo training for courses starting in January 2027. Selected candidates will receive a Short Service Commission (SSC) in Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches.

AFCAT 1 2026 Application Form

The AFCAT 1 2026 online application form will be available from 10 November 2025. Candidates must fill in all required details carefully and ensure the accuracy of uploaded documents. The registration link will close on 9 December 2025. Applications submitted after this date will not be accepted under any circumstances.

Steps to Apply for AFCAT 1 2026

  1. Visit the official website — afcat.cdac.in.
  2. Click on “New User Register” to create a profile using your mobile number and email ID.
  3. Verify the OTP sent to your registered details and receive your login ID and password.
  4. Log in and select the post you wish to apply for.
  5. Enter educational qualifications and personal details.
  6. Upload your scanned photograph, signature, and certificates in JPEG format.
  7. Pay the examination fee online through credit/debit card or net banking.
  8. Submit the form and take a printout of the acknowledgement for future reference.

AFCAT 1 2026 Application Fee

Candidates applying through the AFCAT entry will need to pay a non-refundable examination fee of Rs 550 plus GST. This fee is not applicable to NCC Special Entry candidates.

Selection Process

The selection process for AFCAT 1 2026 will include:

  • Written Test
  • Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) Interview
  • Medical Examination

Candidates who successfully clear all stages will be recruited for the respective branches.
