Century Laminating Company Ltd.

Incorporated as H. N. Lohia (Agencies) Private Limited under the
 Companies Act, 1956 as a Limited Company on 29th July, 1965,
 subsequently its name was changed to Century Laminating Company
 Private Limited and a fresh Certificate of Incorporation was obtained
 pursuant to section 23(1) of the Companies Act, 1956 on October 22,
 1984. The Company became a deemed Public Company by virtue of section
 43A(1) of the Companies Act, 1956 on and from June 15, 1988. A fresh
 Certificate of Incorporation, consequent to conversion from deemed
 Public Company to Public Company, was obtained on May 31, 1995.
 
 The Company's registered and head office are located at Calcutta. 
 Its laminating plant is located in village Achheja of Hapur in
 Ghaziabad District of Uttar Pradesh, on the Delhi-Hapur road and its
 cold storage and ice plant having an installed capacity of 13924 cu.
 m. is located in New Delhi. The Company has set up a 6000 M.T. per
 annum formaldehyde manufacturing plant as a backward integration to
 its existing plant at Hapur in August 1994. Formaldehyde is used for
 preparation of resins which is required in the manufacture of
 laminates.  Formaldehyde manufactured in excess of its in-house
 requirement is sold in the market.  The Company has major branches in
 Ahmedabad, Bombay, Bangalore, Delhi, Jaipur, Karnal, Ludhiana, Madras,
 Pune and Tinsukia. The Company is in the business of manufacturing and
 selling decorative laminates under the brand name 'Merino'. The
 laminates manufactured by the Company have a range of 400 designs,
 one of the highest in the industry. Most of the exports of the
 Company in the past was routed through Merino Exports Private
 Limited, a group Company. The Company will be exporting its products
 directly in the future.
 
 The Merino group had a total share of 39.18% of the laminates
 exported from the country during the year 1994-95 (Source
 PLEXCONCIL). The Company has won the Certificate of Merit for the
 second best exporter of laminates from The Plastics and Linoleums
 Export Promotion Council
 (PLEXCONCIL) for the years 1991-92 and 1992-93.
 
 2001 - The Company has signed an agreement with CDSL, NSDL and ABC
 Computers Pvt Ltd. 
               for dematerialisation.
