Bengaluru erupted in celebration after the Indian women’s cricket team lifted the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 trophy. The city came alive with music and dance as people came onto the streets to celebrate the team’s victory.

Streets, markets, and even the Kempegowda International Airport buzzed with excitement as people expressed their happiness and pride. Car horns were blaring late night, while drums were played, and the Indian flag waved proudly in the hands of the fans. Colourful banners and posters celebrating the team’s triumph were seen across the city.

Videos of the celebrations went viral on social media, showing people of all ages dancing, singing, and shouting in joy.

One viral video posted by the Karnataka portfolio on X showed the scenes at Bengaluru airport, where passengers erupted in cheers and chants of “India! India!” moments after the win. The airport echoed with applause and laughter as travellers and staff joined in the spontaneous celebration, capturing photos and videos to share online.

Some residents even took out processions, while others gathered in groups outside cafes and shops to watch the moments of the match and relive India’s win. Several restaurants and stores even offered special discounts and free treats to mark the occasion.

India’s women’s cricket team created history by winning the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 after defeating South Africa in a thrilling final at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. The closely fought match ended with India edging out the Proteas.

Mumbai, the entertainment capital, was also swept up in the euphoria, with fans flooding the streets, honking, waving flags, and bursting crackers. Bollywood stars including Vicky Kaushal, Anushka Sharma, Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor, and Shraddha Kapoor took to social media to congratulate the team and express pride in their achievement.

Enthusiastic fans even gathered at India Gate in Delhi to celebrate the victory. Meanwhile, jubilant scenes unfolded in Siliguri as well where the locals celebrated wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh’s performance, the hometown star.
