A traffic police constable was violently assaulted by a group of men, one of whom was a minor, in Muzaffarnagar after he stopped their vehicle from entering a no-entry zone, according to a report by TOI.

The entire incident, captured on video and now circulating widely on social media, shows the brazen attack unfolding on a public street as bystanders looked on. The footage has triggered widespread public condemnation and calls for authorities to ensure the safety of law enforcement personnel.

The altercation began when Constable Jamin Ali stopped a car for attempting to drive into a restricted area. The occupants of the vehicle reportedly became enraged, leading to a heated argument that swiftly escalated into a physical assault.

As seen in the viral video, four men surrounded the officer and began punching him repeatedly. In a particularly shocking detail cited by TOI, a minor was also seen among the attackers, landing blows on the constable.

Following the incident, the local police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the accused under serious sections of the law. A police spokesperson stated that the Kotwali Nagar Police Station is handling the case and that further legal action is underway.

The accused individuals are currently fugitives, prompting a manhunt across the region. “Two teams have been formed to arrest them,” the police confirmed, indicating an active search operation is in progress to apprehend the suspects.

The graphic nature of the viral video has fuelled significant outrage online, with social media users universally condemning the attack and demanding swift justice and stronger protections for traffic police who perform their duties on the front lines of road safety.
