According to Station House Officer Rajesh Kumar Singh, the priest, Vikas Tiwari, was distributing prasad (holy offerings) when he took two extra laddus from a prayer tray brought by a devotee named Rammu Singh and his sons. This small act led to an argument, which quickly turned into a physical assault, according to a TOI report.
The four accused, Rammu Singh and his sons Amit Singh, Lalit Singh, and Ajay Singh, allegedly started hitting the priest without giving him a chance to explain. They also misbehaved with other devotees who stepped in to help.
Vikas Tiwari later filed a complaint at the Khaga police station. Based on his statement and the video evidence, an FIR was registered under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for voluntarily causing hurt, criminal intimidation, and public mischief.
Fatehpur Superintendent of Police Anoop Kumar Singh confirmed the case and said that the police are actively looking for the accused, who have gone into hiding since the incident.
