UP Horror: Wife kills husband with lover's help, seals chopped body with cement in drum

In a gruesome incident, a woman allegedly stabbed her husband, a merchant Navy officer, to death with the help of her friend, chopped the body into 15 pieces and sealed the remains in a drum filled with cement in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh.

The incident came to light after a complaint was received over foul smell in the Indira Nagar area. Police also received information that Saurabh Rajput (29), a merchant navy officer, had gone missing on March 4. The police recovered his decomposed remains on Tuesday.

The merchant Navy officer had reportedly returned to India from London to celebrate his wife's birthday, according to a Times of India report.

On the basis of suspicion, the police detained his wife Muskan (27), and her lover, Sahil (25), News18 reported.

Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ayush Vikram Singh said, "...A person named Saurabh Rajput, working in Merchant Navy, came home on March 4 and had been missing since then. On the basis of suspicion, his wife Muskan and her partner Sahil were called for questioning."

"During the questioning, Sahil confessed that on March 4, he and Muskan stabbed Saurabh to death. They dismembered the body, put it in a drum and sealed it with cement. The police have recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem. Sahil and Muskan have been arrested and an FIR has been registered... Further legal action is underway," SP Singh told ANI.

They confessed to the crime and have been arrested. An FIR under relevant sections has been filed.

According to the victim’s family, Muskan attempted to mislead them and avoid suspicion by sending messages from Saurabh’s phone. After killing him, the accused allegedly went on a vacation to a hill station, Singh said, according to News18.

Police revealed that Muskan and Saurabh had married in 2016 despite their families' disapproval, leading them to live in a rented apartment. The couple had a six-year-old daughter, TOI reported.

Further investigation is underway.
