A farmhouse party in Telangana, promoted on Instagram as a "Trap House" event, was raided by police who detained 65 people, including 22 minors, on suspicion of drug use and illegal assembly.
The Rajendranagar Special Operations Team (SOT) conducted the crackdown at the Oaks Farmhouse in Moinabad following intelligence about a suspected drug party. Upon arrival, officials found a large gathering of young people, among them 12 girls, five of whom were minors, reportedly indulging in intoxication.
According to an NDTV report, blood tests were administered to all detained individuals. The tests confirmed that two attendees had consumed ganja. One of the individuals was identified as Ishaan, the alleged organiser of the event. The other confirmed user is a minor and has not been named.
Inspector G Pawan Kumar Reddy of Moinabad police was cited by NDTV as saying that Ishaan is a second-year private college student who returned to India in 2024 and is suspected of being a regular consumer of narcotic drugs. The police also seized 10 bottles of foreign liquor from the farmhouse premises.
The event was reportedly advertised on an Instagram account named "Trap House. 9MM," which is allegedly run by a Hyderabad-based DJ. The promotions promised attendees "an experience of joy you've never had in your life" and listed the party timings from 6 pm to 2 am on a Saturday. Entry was strictly ticketed, costing Rs 1,600 for singles and Rs 2,800 for couples, which facilitated the large gathering.
Following the raid, all 65 individuals were taken to the police station. A case has been registered under Section 27 of the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act, alongside charges for organising a ticketed event without the requisite police permission, NDTV reported.
