Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced on Wednesday that nearly 7,000 additional beds will be available in five new government super-speciality hospitals by December 9, 2025. The announcement was made during the inauguration of a new 300-bed AIG Hospitals facility in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, The Times of India reported.

Speaking at the event, the CM also appealed to doctors working in corporate hospitals across India and abroad to contribute to public healthcare in Telangana. He encouraged them to dedicate at least a week of their time each year, especially when they visit home, as part of their social responsibility.

"Doctors who studied in Hyderabad and Telangana but are now practising abroad, especially in the US and other countries, can give back to the state by offering their services for at least a week when they visit home. The state government will create a platform for voluntary registration of corporate doctors working in India and overseas to serve in government hospitals," he said.

“Even a month of your time spent at a government hospital in Telangana can change lives,” Reddy added.

The Telangana CM also shared the government’s broader plans for healthcare and education. In the current budget, Rs 11,500 crore has been set aside for health and Rs 21,500 crore for education. Revanth Reddy said the Congress-led government is giving top priority to strengthening these two key areas.

The five new hospitals include the redevelopment of Osmania General Hospital in Goshamahal, three branches of the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) in Alwal, Sanathnagar, and LB Nagar, as well as the expansion of NIMS and a super-specialty hospital in Warangal. He said these hospitals will be equipped to rival corporate hospitals and are expected to be ready by December 2025.
