Parts of Delhi received light rainfall on Saturday morning.

Bringing slight relief from sweltering heat, parts of Delhi witnessed light rainfall on Saturday morning. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted more rainfall for the national capital, likely to be accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.

Earlier on Friday, Delhi-NCR received heavy rainfall and was pounded with gusty winds, leading to waterlogging in several areas, flights getting delayed and death of four people in Dwarka. Delhi witnessed one of its wettest May days in recent history on Friday.

According to the weather office, the national capital recorded 0.8 mm of rain in the past 24 hours — between 8:30 am on Friday and 8:30 am on Saturday, Hindustan Times reported.

The minimum temperature on Friday settled at 22.2 degrees Celsius, which is 2.5 degrees below the season's average. The relative humidity at 8:30 am today stood at 82 per cent.

The IMD has predicted thunderstorms with rain during the day, with the maximum temperature expected to hover around 34 degrees Celsius.
