
An 18-year-old girl was killed on the spot after a speeding truck collided with her scooter in the Pimpri-Chinchwad area on Wednesday evening, in an incident that was captured on a nearby CCTV camera. The victim has been identified as Anjali Shankar Salve, a resident of the area.
The accident took place around 6 pm on March 5. According to the Pune police cited by NDTV, Anjali was riding her scooter when a speeding truck hit her from behind. The impact threw her off the two-wheeler onto the road, following which the heavy vehicle ran over her. She died on the spot due to the grievous injuries sustained in the collision.

Visuals from a CCTV camera installed nearby show the moment of impact. The footage shows Anjali navigating her scooter when the truck, coming from behind, rams into her vehicle, causing an immediate and fatal crash. Witnesses at the scene described moments of chaos as local residents rushed to the spot, but there was no saving the young woman.
Following the incident, Pune police took swift action, the NDTV report said. The truck driver was identified as Rajpal Kasbe and was taken into custody shortly after the accident. Officials confirmed that he has been arrested in connection with the case.
In addition to the driver, the police have also booked the owner of the construction company that operated the truck.
