Poll-bound Bihar gets 3 Amrit Bharat, 4 passenger trains - full route and schedule details

According to East Central Railway (ECR) CPRO Saraswati Chandra, the Muzaffarpur–Charlapalli Amrit Bharat Express will begin operations from October 14. Dates for the Darbhanga–Madar and Chhapra–Anand Vihar Amrit Bharat Express trains will be announced soon.

The Chhapra–Delhi Amrit Bharat Express will be the sixth train linking Bihar with the national capital.

Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Monday launched three new Amrit Bharat Express trains and four local passenger trains in Bihar. The inauguration was done through video conferencing from New Delhi, while a ceremonial flag-off was also held at Patna Junction.

Deputy chief minister Samrat Choudhary, Patna Sahib MP Ravi Shankar Prasad, and state road construction minister Nitin Nabin together waved green flags to mark the start of the services.

Speaking on the occasion, Vaishnaw said the railway network in Bihar has been completely electrified. He also mentioned that 1,899 km of new railway tracks have been laid in the state during the Modi government’s tenure.

According to East Central Railway (ECR) CPRO Saraswati Chandra, the Muzaffarpur–Charlapalli Amrit Bharat Express will begin operations from October 14. Dates for the Darbhanga–Madar and Chhapra–Anand Vihar Amrit Bharat Express trains will be announced soon. In addition, new passenger trains will start running from October 1 on four routes: Patna–Islampur, Patna–Buxar, Patna–Nawada, and Danapur–Jhajha.

Muzaffarpur–Charlapalli Amrit Bharat Express

The Muzaffarpur–Charlapalli Amrit Bharat Express will be the first train connecting Muzaffarpur to Hyderabad. It will run once a week on Tuesdays, leaving Muzaffarpur at 10.40 am and reaching Charlapalli near Hyderabad the next day at 11.50 pm. The return train will depart Charlapalli every Thursday at 4.05 am and reach Muzaffarpur by 5 pm on Friday.

Chhapra–Delhi Amrit Bharat Express

The Chhapra–Delhi Amrit Bharat Express will be the sixth train linking Bihar with the national capital. It will pass through important stations like Siwan, Gorakhpur, Basti, Gonda, Lucknow (Aishbagh), and Kanpur, strengthening connectivity between eastern UP, Bihar, and Delhi.

Darbhanga–Ajmer Amrit Bharat Express

Similarly, a weekly Darbhanga–Ajmer Amrit Bharat Express via Madar Junction will also start. From Ajmer’s Madar Junction, it will leave every Friday at 9.15 pm, reaching Darbhanga the next day at 12.45 pm. In the return direction, it will depart Darbhanga on Sundays at 4.15 am and reach Madar Junction on Monday at 1.20 pm.

The Amrit Bharat Express is a new-generation train developed by Indian Railways. While it does not have air-conditioned coaches, it is equipped with modern features such as fire detection systems, semi-automatic couplers, sealed gangways for safe movement, and talk-back units for communication during emergencies.
