Two women in Mumbai were allegedly harassed and threatened by an autorickshaw driver during a late-night ride. One of them, Tina Soni, posted a video on Instagram capturing the incident, in which the driver can be heard hurling abuses and issuing threats at her and her friend, News18 reported.

In her post caption, Tina wrote, “What was supposed to be an exciting night turned into a really scary experience." According to her, the incident took place when she and her friend took an autorickshaw from Bandra station to the Jio Convention Centre to attend Punjabi singer AP Dhillon’s concert, the report added.

Tina shared that the journey initially “felt normal." But the situation changed suddenly when the autorickshaw driver allegedly asked them to get down from the vehicle.

She claimed the driver objected to them “talking too loudly" during the ride. Soon after, he demanded that they pay him immediately even though they had not reached their destination yet.

Tina wrote that they calmly explained they would pay the full amount once they reached the Jio Convention Centre. This, according to her, triggered a drastic change in the driver’s behaviour.

“That’s when his behaviour completely changed. He started abusing us and threatening us, saying he would beat us up and even call other people to harm us," Tina stated in her caption. She alleged that the driver began abusing them and threatening violence.

Tina added that she started recording the incident for her own safety as the situation continued to escalate.

She further claimed that during this moment, the driver drove the autorickshaw towards her. “Thankfully, I was safe and nothing happened," she wrote.

Even after leaving the spot, Tina stated that the driver returned again only to threaten them further, despite traffic police being present just a few metres away. After this, she said, the driver fled the area.

The driver continues to raise his voice and demands payment for the ride. He is also heard abusing them before walking back towards his autorickshaw.

As he reaches the vehicle, he is heard saying, “Marunga bahot, patak patak ke marunga (I will beat you badly, I will slam you and beat you)" before getting inside the auto and driving away.

In her caption, Tina also mentioned that a police complaint has been filed against the autorickshaw driver, the report added. She added that all the recorded videos and evidence have been shared with the authorities for further action.
