Missing Patna bank manager found dead, his scooter also recovered from same spot

The body of Abhishek Varun, a bank manager who went missing in Patna, was found inside a well in the Beur area on Monday, News18 reported.

According to the report, police also discovered his scooter submerged in the same well. Abhishek worked as a branch manager at ICICI Lombard in Patna and lived in the Kankarbagh locality.

As per his family, Abhishek had gone with his wife and children to attend a family gathering in the Ramkrishna Nagar area on Sunday night. After the function, he asked his wife and kids to return home while he stayed back at the venue.

His wife said after reaching home, she called Abhishek, who told her he was on his way. However, at around 3 am, he called again and said he had been in an accident. After that, his phone got switched off, and there was no contact with him.

The family began searching for him early the next morning. They looked for him at nearby hospitals and along the bypass area but found no trace. A missing person’s complaint was filed at the Kankarbagh police station, and an investigation was launched.

Police teams visited the party location and nearby hospitals. They also began checking CCTV footage from the area in an attempt to trace his last movements. Finally, they found his body and scooter in a well.

Officials say they are waiting for the post-mortem report to get more clarity. For now, the case remains open and under investigation, according to the New18 report.
