A 22-year-old woman lost her life after a tragic fall from the terrace of her fourth-floor apartment in DLF-3 in Gurugram. What was supposed to be a light and playful moment between the couple turned into a heartbreaking accident on the night of July 15.

Parvati and her husband Duryodhan, originally from Odisha, lived in a two-room flat in a four-storey building in DLF Phase 3. Both worked at a private company. On the evening of the incident, around 10.30 pm, the couple went up to the terrace to enjoy the pleasant weather. During a moment of friendly teasing, Parvati climbed onto the parapet wall and jokingly asked her husband, “If I fall, will you save me?”

As she tried to climb back down, Parvati slipped. Duryodhan, 28, immediately reached out and grabbed her hand, trying his best to pull her back. He held onto her for nearly two minutes, shouting for help, but no one was around to assist. Ultimately, his grip gave way, and Parvati fell to the ground below.

Emergency services were called immediately, and Parvati was rushed to a nearby private hospital. Despite the doctors’ efforts, she died within half an hour due to severe internal injuries.

Police from the DLF-3 station have started an inquiry into the incident. Officials said there were no signs of foul play. According to the police, injuries on Duryodhan’s hands and chest confirmed that he had struggled to save his wife. “He broke down during questioning and said he had lost everything,” a police officer shared.

The couple had been married for two and a half years and were known to be happy together. After the autopsy, Parvati’s body was handed over to her family. Mourning his wife’s death, Duryodhan shared an emotional post on Instagram, saying, "You are my life, you are everything to me. Please come back. I'm waiting to hear your voice, feel your presence, your touch."
