The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has rolled out a new housing scheme called ‘Jan Sadharan Awaas Yojana 2025’, which aims to provide affordable homes to the economically weaker sections (EWS) and Janta category applicants. A total of 1,172 flats will be made available in different parts of Outer Delhi, The Indian Express reported.
Officials said that registrations for the scheme will open today, September 11, while the booking process will begin from September 22. The scheme will remain open until December 21. Notably, the flats will be allotted on a first-come-first-serve basis.
According to the official circular released on Tuesday, the flats will be located across seven sites, Narela, Rohini, Loknayakpuram, Todapur, Dwarka (sectors 14 and 19B), and Manglapuri.
Among these, Narela has the largest share, with 672 EWS flats on offer. The sizes of these flats range between 34.76 square metres and 61.99 square metres, and the prices vary from Rs 9.18 lakh to Rs 27.86 lakh. In Rohini, the DDA will provide 97 Janta flats with an area of about 28 sq m each, priced from Rs 14.59 lakh. At Loknayakpuram, buyers can choose from 108 EWS flats sized between 55.35 and 61.17 sq m, with prices falling between Rs 29.6 lakh and Rs 32.62 lakh.
For those applying under the EWS category, the circular has set an income limit. The combined annual income of an applicant and co-applicant must not exceed Rs 10 lakh. For the Janta category flats, however, there is no income restriction, making them open to a wider section of buyers.
The registration fee for the DDA’s online Awas Portal has been fixed at Rs 2,500. Applicants who are already registered will not need to pay this fee again. To book a flat, applicants must deposit a booking amount of Rs 50,000 per unit. Notably, the DDA has clarified that there is no cap on the number of flats a person can book, as long as they meet the eligibility conditions.
