Bengaluru road rage twist: CCTV shows IAF officer attacking biker, busts ‘one-sided’ narrative

A suspected road rage incident in Bengaluru involving an Indian Air Force officer has taken a new turn, as newly surfaced CCTV footage appears to challenge the officer’s initial claim of a one-sided attack.

The CCTV video, which has now gone viral, shows Wing Commander Aditya Bose initiating the physical assault on the biker. His wife, Squadron Leader Madhumita, can be seen engaging in verbal abuse. The officer locked the rider’s neck with his hand and wrestled him to the ground.

According to the eyewitnesses, the officer lost control during the altercation and brutally assaulted the biker, Vikas. “He was hitting like he was mad, had lost complete control", one of the witnesses told CNN-News 18.

“He landed 15-20 blows on the biker, flung his phone with full force as the victim too attempted to record the incident," another witness added.

DCP D Devaraj stated that the CCTV footage clearly indicates it was a straightforward case of road rage, unrelated to regional or linguistic issues. “The bike key was in the hand of the accused, Vikas, and he used it to strike, which is how the officer sustained his injuries,” he said.

“The altercation began when the accused, Vikas, drove recklessly, prompting the lady officer to object. The situation escalated into an argument, with Vikas confronting the officer about his wife’s remarks, leading to a heated exchange and a physical fight between the two men. Both of them have fought like wrestlers on the street," he added.

The police have apprehended Vikas, and the investigation is underway.

Earlier, Bose shared a video on social media alleging that he and his wife were assaulted by a local biker. He claimed the incident took place while they were on their way to the airport. In the video, the officer stated that the biker had allegedly blocked their car and started verbally abusing them in Kannada.

"A bike came from behind and stopped our car... the guy started abusing me in Kannada. When they saw the DRDO sticker on my car and said 'You DRDO people', and they abused my wife and I couldn't bear it. The moment I got out of my car, the biker hit me with a key on my forehead, and there was blood,” the officer had said in his video.

"This is what Karnataka has become, seeing the truth, the reality...I couldn't believe it. God help us. God give me the power not to retaliate. Tomorrow, if law and order don't help us, I will retaliate," the officer added.
