Ahmedabad school stabbing horror

A Class 10 student was stabbed to death by his junior at a private school in Ahmedabad on Tuesday following an altercation, sparking massive protests and vandalism by parents and locals on Wednesday.

During the preliminary probe, police came across an Instagram conversation between the accused and his friend. In the chat, the boy confessed to the crime and also revealed what had led to the fatal attack on his senior, according to a report by The Times of India.

The accused confessed in the chat that he had stabbed the victim after being provoked by words such as, “Kaun hai tu? Kya karlega tu? (Who are you and what will you do?)” His friend told him that a fight could have been settled, but not murder. The accused, however, replied that what had happened could not be undone.

The accused then asked how his friend came to know about the incident. The friend explained that he had met a common acquaintance on the road who told him about it. The conversation ended with the accused agreeing to delete the messages and hide for some time.

According to police, the Class 10 boy from Seventh Day Adventist School was rushed to hospital for treatment but, despite doctors’ efforts, he died later on Tuesday night.

By Wednesday morning, news of the murder had spread across the neighbourhood. Hundreds of people, including the victim’s family, parents of other students, and members of the Sindhi community, gathered outside the school, with many accusing the school management of negligence and demanding accountability.

The crowd stormed into the school campus, damaging school buses, cars, and two-wheelers parked inside. Some staff members were also assaulted, police officials said. The situation quickly ran out of control, forcing police to step in. Initially, the police officials struggled to control the mob, but they eventually managed to push them out of the premises.

Even after being removed from the school grounds, the protesters continued their agitation on the roads. They staged a sit-in, blocked traffic, and raised slogans against the police and the administration. Many demanded that strict action be taken against the school management, saying the tragedy could have been prevented.
