Budget 2025 Date and Time: Know when Nirmala Sitharaman going to present this year's Union Budget

The stage is set for the Union Budget 2025. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will be presenting the Budget FY26 on February 1st, 2025.

In December last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had held meetings with prominent economists. From top industrialists to the common man, the Union Budget impacts everyone across all walks of life.

As the most important financial event in India, the Union Budget provides a roadmap for government policies, taxation slabs, and other key welfare initiatives.

Sitharaman will continue the decade-old tradition and present the Union Budget 2025 in Parliament on February 1, 2025. While there has been no official circular on the date of the Union Budget, it is widely known that it will be tabled in Parliament on February 1.

There were some apprehensions regarding the date, as February 1 falls on a Saturday this year. However, there have been several precedents in the past when the Union Budget was presented on a Saturday.

In fact, the stock market will also remain open on Saturday, February 1, for the Union Budget presentation. Both the National Stock Exchange and the Bombay Stock Exchange will operate during their usual trading hours, from 9:15 am to 3:30 pm on February 1.

As per the traditional time slot, Sitharaman is likely to present the Union Budget on February 1, 2025, at 11:00 am. This will be her eighth Union Budget presentation, including six full budgets and two interim budgets.

This will be Sitharaman’s second full budget after the 2024 Lok Sabha election, which saw the Modi government return to power for a third consecutive term. The Union Budget is likely to center around the theme of Amrit Kaal’s ‘Viksit Bharat’.
