Tesla has opened a showroom and a charging station each in Delhi and Mumbai. The electric vehicle (EV) giant will soon open facilities in Gurugram. While the company is accepting orders for the Model Y through its official website, do you know how much the electric SUV costs in the three cities?
Tesla has already announced that it will prioritise deliveries for the registrations made in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi and Gurugram. The customer deliveries of the Model Y, which is being offered in India in rear-wheel-drive (RWD) configuration, will start in September.
The Model Y is available in India in standard RWD and Long Range RWD variants. Prospective buyers placing their orders now can expect deliveries of the RWD variant in this quarter and the Long Range RWD variant in the next quarter. They will have to make an order deposit of Rs 22,220.
For reference, the Model Y RWD is priced in India at Rs 59,89,000 (ex-showroom), while the Model Y Long Range RWD comes at Rs 67,89,000 (ex-showroom). These prices are the same across the country. However, the difference is when you calculate the on-the-road price, which takes into account the road tax.

The above-mentioned on-the-road prices are only for the Tesla Model Y in its standard form, without any customisation. The prices will increase if a customer opts for a different exterior colour or interior theme.
While the Tesla Model Y's on-the-road price in Delhi and Mumbai is almost similar, it is significantly higher in Gurugram. This is due to the exemption of road tax on EVs in Delhi and Maharashtra, which is not the case in Haryana.
