Tata Motors has launched the new Winger Plus, a 9-seater commercial passenger vehicle, in India at a starting price of Rs 20.60 lakh (ex-showroom). According to India's largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, the Tata Winger Plus has been designed to address both urban staff transport and intercity travel requirements.
The Winger Plus is powered by a 2.2-litre Dicor diesel engine, which produces 100hp of maximum power and 200Nm of peak torque. It is built on a monocoque chassis and features independent suspension, which Tata Motors claims will enhance ride comfort.
Inside, the vehicle features reclining captain seats with individual armrests, roof-mounted AC vents, USB charging ports for all passengers, and a dedicated luggage compartment. The company stated that these additions are designed to enhance passenger comfort during long journeys.
The Tata Winger Plus also comes with Tata Motors' Fleet Edge connected platform, which provides real-time vehicle tracking, diagnostics, and driver behaviour analysis. The feature is intended to help fleet operators optimise efficiency and reduce operating costs.

"The Winger Plus has been thoughtfully engineered to deliver a premium experience for passengers and a compelling value proposition for fleet operators. With its superior ride comfort, best-in-class comfort features, and segment-leading efficiency, it is designed to drive profitability while offering the lowest cost of ownership," said Anand S, Vice President and Head, Commercial Passenger Vehicle Business, Tata Motors.
"India's passenger mobility landscape is evolving rapidly—from staff transportation in urban centres to the rising demand for tourism across the country. The Winger Plus is built to serve this diversity, setting new benchmarks in the commercial passenger vehicle segment," he added.
The new Tata Winger Plus will directly rival the Force Traveller, which has been a long-standing choice in the staff and tourist transport segment.
The vehicle will be available across Tata Motors' authorised dealerships from this week. With this launch, Tata Motors is expanding its commercial passenger vehicle portfolio, which is expected to witness a rise in demand with growing urbanisation and organised transport services.
