Kia India has expanded the Carens Clavis EV line-up with the launch of two new trims -- HTX E and HTX E [ER] -- priced at Rs 19.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 21.99 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively.
Variant details and specifications
The new HTX E trim is positioned between the existing HTK+ and HTX trims and comes with a 42kWh battery pack. The HTX E [ER] gets a larger 51.4kWh battery.
The Clavis EV line-up now comprises six trims -- HTK+, HTX E, HTX, HTX E [ER], HTX [ER], and HTX+ [ER]. Kia claims a driving range of 404km for the 42kWh variant and 490km for the 51.4kWh version. Both variants support fast charging, with a 10% to 80% charge achievable in 39 minutes. The electric motors produce 99kW and 126kW, respectively, delivering up to 255Nm of torque.
Features and equipment
The HTX E variants add several new comfort and convenience features over the HTK+. These include a panoramic sunroof, LED lamps for all three rows, window auto up/down for all windows, ECM rear-view mirror, wireless charger, and a two-tone steering wheel with tilt and telescopic adjustment.
The cabin also features an air purifier with virus protection, seatback folding tables, leatherette upholstery, multi-colour ambient lighting with footwell illumination, and solar glass. A 26.62-inch dual panoramic display and 90 connected car features are part of the equipment list.
Safety equipment includes six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), hill start assist control (HAC), and 18 advanced safety features.
Charging and ownership support
Kia said it continues to strengthen its EV ecosystem under the K-Charge platform, offering access to over 11,000 charging points through the MyKia app. The network includes live charger availability, route planning, and digital payment integration. The company also operates more than 250 EV-ready workshops and 100 dealerships equipped with DC fast chargers.

Rivals
Since the EV segment in India is currently at a nascent stage with few models, the Kia Carens Clavis EV does not have a direct rival. However, in terms of pricing, it does compete against models like the BYD eMax 7, Mahindra BE 6, Tata Curvv.ev, Hyundai Creta Electric and MG ZS EV.
