The new Hyundai Venue will be exported to 30 countries.

Hyundai Motor India is eyeing a 20% growth in the volumes of the newly-launched second-generation Venue over the first-generation model. A formidable contender in the compact SUV segment, the Hyundai Venue is among the largest-selling cars in India.

Like its predecessor, the new Venue range has the standard model and the performance-oriented Venue N Line. While the Venue is priced between Rs 7,89,900 and Rs 15,69,100 (ex-showroom), the Venue N Line sits in the price range of Rs 10,55,400 to Rs 15,48,100 (ex-showroom).

"The old Venue was doing about 9,000 units a month in the domestic market and over 600 units in the export market. Very clearly, the kind of initial feedback we have received, there is an immediate 20% upside which we can see," Hyundai's Whole-Time Director and Chief Operating Officer, Tarun Garg, told Moneycontrol.

The new Venue range is being manufactured at the company's Pune plant, which currently has an annual production capacity of 1,70,000 units. The entire capacity is available to the new Venue range at present.

In 2028, Hyundai will enhance the capacity of the Pune plant by an additional 80,000 units, taking the total plant capacity to 2,50,000 units annually. However, the carmaker plans to use the entire capacity with a minimum number of models. This will definitely work in favour of the new Venue range. With no capacity constraint, we might see the compact SUV doing even better in the market, including domestic and export.

"The new Venue is being manufactured exclusively in India at our Pune facility, which means there will be more and more options for export as well. So the old Venue was exported to 27 countries. With the new Venue, already three countries have been added, including Chile and Sri Lanka. So the new Venue will be exported to 30 countries. We will look beyond those numbers as well," Garg said.

"The whole idea was, from an efficiency point of view, to fill the Pune plant with the minimum number of models. And that is why you see that only one model will fill up almost the entire capacity. That is the beauty of the whole thing. If you have too many models in a plant, you have to shift the entire vendor base and logistics," he added.

The new Venue is positioned as part of Hyundai's wider product strategy, which includes 26 new models by FY30. The Venue brand has so far recorded sales of over 7,00,000 units in India since its 2019 introduction, maintaining a consistent position among the top SUVs.

The new Venue features revised exterior dimensions and styling elements. With a length of 3,995mm, a width of 1,800mm and a height of 1,665mm, it is 48mm taller and 30mm wider than its predecessor. The model gets quad-beam LED headlamps, twin-horn LED DRLs, horizon LED lamps at both ends, dark chrome grille, bridge-type roof rails and an in-glass Venue emblem. The wheelbase is 2,520mm, which is 20mm longer than the previous generation.

Inside, the new Venue adopts a redesigned layout with an integrated dual curved panoramic display (12.3-inch each), dual-tone leatherette seats with Venue branding, a terrazzo-textured crash pad, ambient lighting and a coffee table-type centre console. The model also offers an electric four-way driver seat, rear sunshade, two-step reclining rear seats and rear AC vents.

Hyundai's new ccNC (Connected Car Navigation Cockpit) system, powered by NVIDIA, debuts on this model and is paired with a 12.3-inch infotainment unit, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a Bose eight-speaker system, a surround view monitor and enhanced BlueLink features. The vehicle supports up to 20 controllers for over-the-air updates.

Hyundai has also expanded safety features, offering more than 65 safety features, including 33 standard. Major inclusions are ESC, hill-start assist, electric parking brake with auto hold, 3-point seatbelts with reminders for all seats, six airbags, BVM, SVM, TPMS (highline) and rollover sensor. ADAS Level 2 with 16 functions is also offered.

The engine range consists of the 1.2-litre petrol (83PS and 114.7Nm), 1.0-litre turbo-petrol (120PS and 172Nm) and 1.5-litre diesel (116PS and 250Nm). Transmission choices include 5-speed MT (1.2 petrol), 6-speed MT (turbo-petrol and diesel), 7-speed DCT (turbo-petrol) and a new 6-speed automatic (diesel).

Colour choices include Hazel Blue, Mystic Sapphire and Dragon Red as new additions, along with Titan Grey, Atlas White and Abyss Black. Two dual-tone options are also available with black roofs.

The Venue N Line has received 32 exclusive upgrades. These include N Line-specific bumpers with red highlights, N branding, wing-type spoiler, twin-tip exhaust, 17-inch alloys with red brake calipers and a dark metallic skid plate. The cabin features black upholstery with red accents, N Line steering wheel with performance buttons, metal pedals and N-branded leatherette seats. The Venue N Line uses the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with 6-speed MT and 7-speed DCT options.
