Honda Cars India has cut prices across its line-up as part of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) 2.0 reform, making the Amaze, Elevate and City more affordable. The reductions range from about Rs 41,000 to as much as Rs 1.20 lakh, and the new prices are effective from today.
The Amaze is the biggest gainer in this round of revisions. For the first time, the entire range now falls below the Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) mark. The second-generation Amaze has become cheaper by Rs 65,000-73,000, with the S MT starting at Rs 6.98 lakh and the S CVT at Rs 7.80 lakh.
The third-generation Amaze sees even steeper cuts of up to Rs 1.20 lakh. Its V MT is now at Rs 7.41 lakh, while the top-end ZX CVT, which earlier cost Rs 11.20 lakh, is down to Rs 9.99 lakh. All the prices are ex-showroom.
Honda's mid-size SUV, the Elevate, has also seen a significant revision. Prices now begin at Rs 10.99 lakh for the SV MT, almost Rs 91,000 lower than before. Depending on the variant, customers get relief between Rs 43,000 and Rs 91,000.
The popular ZX CVT Dual Tone, which used to retail at Rs 16.83 lakh, now comes in at Rs 16.25 lakh. Other trims like the VX CVT and ZX MT are also cheaper by over Rs 50,000, giving the Elevate a stronger footing against its rivals in the SUV space. All the prices are ex-showroom.
The Honda City continues to play in the premium sedan space, but now at lower prices. The entry-level SV MT is down by nearly Rs 43,000 to Rs 11.95 lakh. Across the range, price cuts vary between Rs 41,000 and Rs 57,500.
The ZX CVT is now priced at Rs 16.07 lakh, compared to Rs 16.65 lakh earlier. Even the hybrid City e:HEV has seen a cut of around Rs 42,000, bringing it to Rs 19.48 lakh.
