Internet brand Lycos has reported a net profit of Rs 342.22 crore for financial year 2014-15 as against Rs 220.96 crore in the previous year. The company posted an annual revenue of Rs 1,957 crore as against Rs 1,673 crore in the previous year.
The company's overall revenue grew by about 16.95 percent , while the digital segment revenue grew by 22.88 percent , Lycos said in a statement.
"The results are very strong. Our teams executed well in building solid revenue streams by aligning relevant technologies around best growth opportunities"."We continue to focus on providing a simple yet powerful Internet experience to our users and clients," Lycos chairman Suresh Reddy said.
The enhanced search advertising segment reported 12 percent increase in revenue, the statement said, adding that a new division focused on consumer Internet products is getting ready for a launch next month.
