German luxury car major Mercedes-Benz today launched the all new A-Class in the compact segment at an introductory price of Rs 21,93,500 for the petrol variant and Rs 22,73,500 for diesel, ex-showroom Mumbai.
The two new A-Class models are A 180 Sport and A 180 CDI Style, available in both petrol and diesel options, and have one of the best fuel economy in the segment, the company said in a statement here.

Globally, the A-Class has been a run-away success with over 90,000 bookings within months of the launch. The A-Class also comes with service packages like 'star ease' and 'star care'.
While the petrol version comes in 1.6 litre, 4 cylinder engine, the diesel model sports a 2.2 litre, 4 cylinder engine with streamlined aerodynamic design.
These models also sport high safety with seven airbags and also come with extended warranty of one more year.
Announcing the launch, Mercedes-Benz India managing director and chief executive Eberhard Kern said "with the new A-Class, Merc now pioneers the compact luxury segment in the country and it reflects the changing customer demand for compact cars.
The A-Class is also the most fuel efficient luxury car offering 1000 kms in a full tank of diesel." He further said "2013 is the year of offensive for Merc India and the A-Class launch reiterates our promise of bringing the most fascinating cars for our valued customers here."
These models are equipped with 7G-DCT automated 7 speed dual clutch transmission, 11-drive assistance systems, direct-injection turbocharger technology, 14.7 cm infotainment display system, and multifunctional sporty steering wheels with paddle shifts.
